Vader: Black to the blind

IG’s Note: It’s been a while since I’ve written a tune for a review, so here you go. I figured a cheery little jingle would go alone nicely with an album as brutal as “Black to the Blind”.
Peter, Mauser, Shambo, and Doc
Where a foursome of dudes who really could rock,
They’d piss on Ralph Nader
And fight off Christ’s crusaders
They were the best version of Vader!
In 1997
They wanted to burn Heaven,
They’d had enough of that fucker
Jesus, the ass-plucker
It was time to take it to that mothersucker!
They made “Black to the Blind”
It was death, but kinda grind,
Not the band’s best
But better than most of the rest
“Litany” is their creative crest!
The title track rules
“Beast raping” is cool,
“Distant Dream” makes me cream
The breakdown’s obscene
It’s groovy deluxe in the extreme!
There are drawbacks
Some short songs are whack,
The production is good
The kicks give me wood
Doc’s an OG in heaven’s drumming ‘hood!
I didn’t know God’s a foetus
So what’s that make Jeebus?
Vader’s not a fan
Blasting’s the plan
Peter, we need more groove man!
What on the cover?
Smalley’s gay lover!
Nah, just a Demon
Gulping the world’s semen
It’s all ending soon, I’m believin’
The record’s a beast
An aggressive, brutal feast,
But more variety would be good
Slower Vader gives me wood
Recommend this? I know I should!
“BTTB” is worth grabbing
And for all my bullshit blabbing,
It’s a good death metal disc
and worth a few dollars risk
It hits harder than my man, Carlton ‘Fucken’ Fisk
I hope you enjoyed my floetry poetry. “Black to the Blind” is pretty good, but far from Vader’s best. If the entire album sounded like the title track, it would be a different story. It’s fast, brutal, and aggressive and you get solid performances (as expected) from the band, especially drummer Doc who seriously could do no wrong. This is not the first Vader album I would recommend for a Vader n00b to own, but it’s definitely worth having in ye old collection of Polideath.
